Sarah graduated from Saint Mary’s College with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in gerontology and was involved in various organizations on campus. She was Mission Commissioner for her junior and senior years and was a founding member of the Gerontology Club. She has volunteered with various nursing homes, hospice homes, and hospitals, and with the retired Sisters of the Holy Cross.
Sarah spent her summers during her undergraduate career taking a break from the rigors of academics and volunteer work and got a job working in the children’s department at her local Nordstrom store. While there, she enjoyed providing customer service and tackling the logistics of contributing to the top selling children’s department in their Midwest region. Sarah’s peaking interest in business and her technical knowledge in biology led her to the ESTEEM program. Sarah is excited to gain business knowledge and experience with the ESTEEM program to contribute to her existing science background.
For her capstone thesis project, Sarah is working with Carex Tech, a company based out of Innovation Park in South Bend. She will be helping to come up with a growth plan and conduct market exploration for Smile, their cloud based communications platform for senior living facilities.
Sarah hopes to start a career in consulting and continue to contribute her skills to help better her community.
