Kerry Egan

Class of 2017-2018

Fordham University, 2017

Why I chose ESTEEM: I chose ESTEEM because of the variety of opportunities the program provides its students. As ESTEEM students, we have numerous resources and people who want to help us succeed, which drew me to the program my senior year of undergrad. I was also really interested in the thesis project we work on throughout the year, and liked how the main focus of the thesis projects was to make a difference in the community.

My capstone thesis project and why I’m excited about it: For my thesis project, I will be working with Midwest Promotional Group to connect prospective students with colleges and universities through virtual reality. Throughout the year, I will be working on developing a library of virtual tours through Notre Dame's campus, and placing them in a platform for students to view from anywhere using a virtual reality headset. As a former student-athlete on Fordham women's rowing team, I know this could be an important tool in recruiting athletes across the country, and hope to bring this to other athletic programs.

What I hope to do after ESTEEM: After ESTEEM, I hope to pursue a consulting career in New York for a few years.

What I like to do when I’m not working in Innovation Park: When I'm not working, I enjoy running, as I'm hoping to participate in the Holy Half Marathon in the Spring.
