Dustin Mix

Class of 2012-2013

University of Notre Dame, 2010
Civil Engineering

Dustin is a three-time graduate of the University of Notre Dame, holding a BS in Civil Engineering ('10), a MS in Civil Engineering ('13) and a MS from ESTEEM. As a part of his graduate work, Dustin helped co-found Engineering2Empower, an initiative looking at innovative approaches to housing and homeownership in post-earthquake Haiti. After graduating from the ESTEEM Program, Dustin moved to Lèogâne, Haiti and lived and worked there for two years, building housing prototypes, training local construction crews, and working with community members to find new ways to approach community-level problems. Dustin returned to the US in late 2015, taking on a full-time role at Notre Dame, splitting time between working on new strategic initiatives for the ESTEEM Graduate Program and the Keough School of Global Affairs. In September 2017, he left Notre Dame to launch the startup INVANTI with co-founder Maria Gibbs, which catalyzes entrepreneurs to solve big problems by helping them navigate the discovery and launch phases of entrepreneurship and connecting them to impact-motivated capital. Dustin is still actively involved with the leadership team of Engineering2Empower.
