Are you an extrovert?

Author: Matthew Thau

How do you perceive the world and make decisions?

What jobs are particularly suited to your personality?

The Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) was designed in 1961 to answer psychological  questions about how people interacted with there world and with others. The test centers upon Carl Jung’s proposed existence of two opposing pairs of cognitive functions, the “rational” (judging) functions, like thinking and feeling, and the “irrational” (perceiving) functions, such as sensing and intuition. Combining these functions with the introverted or extroverted nature of individuals led to the creation of 16 possible type combinations based on preferences answered in a questionnaire.

Are you responsible and organized? Do you take things seriously and tend to be m ore traditional in your values? Perhaps you designate as an ISTJ (Introvert, Sensing, Thinking, Judging). Maybe you are friendly and outgoing. You are enthusiastic and adaptable and you enjoy new challenges. This might make you an ESTP (Extrovert, Sensing, Thinking, Perceiving). While people aren’t defined exclusively by their personality types, you may be surprised to find out what your MBTI has to say about you.

Obtaining a deeper awareness of personality and preferences can play a major role in adapting to our weaknesses, building relationships, and finding more fulfillment with our careers.
