Chicago Event

On Tuesday, May 16th, ND alumni and friends who wish to participate in cycling with the students as they ride into Chicago will gather meeting at the corner of Jackson and Michigan Avenue (across from the Santa Fe Building and the South West corner of the Art Institute) between 2:00-2:30 p.m. There, the riders will cycle to Hammond, IN (Specifically to the Walmart parking lot located at 1100 5th Ave, Hammond, IN ) to connect with the ESTEEM student riders. Together, they will all cycle back to downtown Chicago (Millennium Park).

You may register for the event and/or bike ride below.

Afterwards, please attend a reception at the Gage Restaurant from 5:30-8 p.m. to celebrate with Cindy Parseghian and students from the Notre Dame ESTEEM program, as they conclude the first day of their journey as part of the 2017 Road to Discovery Bike Ride.

It will be a great opportunity to hear from Cindy Parseghian about the Parseghian family’s fight to find a cure for NPC, and learn more about how ESTEEM students are helping to raise funds for this cause.

NPC is a rare, genetic cholesterol storage disorder that is always fatal and took the lives of three grandchildren of legendary Notre Dame football coach Ara Parseghian. After learning the devastating diagnosis, Cindy and Michael Parseghian formed a foundation to find a cure to save their children’s lives and most recently partnered with Notre Dame to continue these efforts.

Attendance to the reception at The Gage Restaurant is free for all guests

For riders, a suggested donation of $300 is appreciated ($150 for alumni who graduated after 2011) to the APMRF at Notre Dame.  Those who make a gift will have the option of purchasing a 2017 Road to Discovery Cycling Jersey and Bib Shorts for $150.  *Your gift is credited towards your annual giving to Notre Dame.

There are some bike racks in front of the Gage Restaurant and Millennium Park.  Also, you can store your bike at The Palmer House Hilton (1-block from the Gage).
