The focus of this thesis project is to evaluate the potential integration of sensors into the Jun Air compressor products. These sensors would monitor critical components of the compressor, including, but not limited to, temperature of the machine, filter capacity, check valve leaks, and cup seal efficiency. This sensor system would wirelessly communicate potential malfunctions to the customer. The mode of communication could be through email, a link-up to his/her current monitoring system of other machines, or a mobile application. Sensor integration would also be helpful for Gast manufacturing because the data generated could be analyzed to determine necessary areas of improvement in the compressor system as a whole.
