ESTEEM graduate and double domer Kerri Dugan says it “helped me learn how I can apply my biology degree in a business setting.” An Associate Project Manager at BGB New York, a pharmaceutical marketing agency specializing in content development for promotional medical education, Kerri also states the ESTEEM program helped supplement her B.S. in Biological Sciences (’09) from the University of Notre Dame by helping her to:
- Familiarize herself with the pharmaceutical industry,
- Develop project management skills, and to
- Think strategically.
Today, she not only uses the skills she learned in the one-year ESTEEM program on a daily basis, but also says, “It’s allowed me to participate in the development of tactical recommendations for new business pitches.” Kerri’s supervisor even confided in her that during the interview process, it was Kerri’s description of her experiences in the ESTEEM program that set her apart from other applicants.
Double domer Tiffany Hickox tells a similar story as to how the ESTEEM program can make a science, engineering, or mathematic degree even more marketable.
In 2009, Tiffany earned a B.S. in Environmental Science from Notre Dame. After graduating from the ESTEEM program, she was hired by Environmental DNA Solutions. Although her title is Program Manager, she wears many hats at the startup, including project design and management, marketing, and managing R&D. Tiffany states, “The ESTEEM program provided me with both the technical and the business expertise necessary to see ideas through into business development.”
Notre Dame’s Engineering, Science, and Technology Entrepreneurship Excellence Master’s Program (ESTEEM)—developed by the University’s College of Science, College of Engineering, and Mendoza College of Business—makes your scientific, technical, engineering, or mathematics skills even more marketable by introducing you to entrepreneurship and the commercialization of science and technology.
Notre Dame is now accepting applications from qualified science, engineering, or mathematics majors for admission into ESTEEM. Learn more about the ESTEEM program http://esteem.nd.edu
