Sean received his B.S. in Pre-Medical studies and Music from the University of Notre Dame in 2014, where he conducted research on the applications of iron nanoparticles in low cost field medical tests for use in developing countries. He was drawn to the ESTEEM Program by his continuing passion for developing accessible medical devices and healthcare solutions for those in need. His capstone thesis project under VP and Associate Provost Gregory Crawford focused on developing a handheld visible wavelength spectrometer which could determine the age of bruises as a tool to assist in the detection and investigation of child abuse.
Following graduation Sean accepted a position in San Diego, CA, as a Product Marketing Manager for BIOVIA, a software company developing tools to provide research laboratories the means to expand their research efficiency and capacity. ESTEEM has provided him the ability to leverage his unique technical and entrepreneurial backgrounds in a variety of contexts to provide unique perspectives on multifaceted problems.
