Jay grew up in Overland Park, KS and received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Saint Louis University in 2009. After realizing he wanted to pursue a career outside of running experiments in a lab, Jay applied to the inaugural class of ESTEEM and graduated from the program in 2010.
During his time in ESTEEM, Jay worked with a professor in Notre Dame's Biochemistry Department to analyze the feasibility of commercializing a targeted chemotherapeutic designed to specifically attack breast cancer cells. Although that drug never made it to market, the work Jay performed conducting competitive analyses and determining efficient ways to take products to market inspired him to pursue a career in consulting.
Upon completing the ESTEEM program, Jay went to work for Accenture’s business intelligence group in Chicago and is still working in consulting for Slalom. His clients have included several members of the Fortune 100 as well as many smaller financial institutions. The entrepreneurial mindset he honed in the ESTEEM program has created many opportunities for Jay to lead internal initiatives and help clients of all sizes solve some of their most complex business challenges.
