Fearghal was the first Naughton Fellow to join the ESTEEM program and was part of the inaugural class of 2010. Originally from Kilkenny, he went on to study Civil & Environmental Engineering at Trinity College Dublin. During his time at Trinity he was particularly interested in energy and sustainable technologies, and continued this focus at Notre Dame with his thesis project. Part of what excited Fearghal about the ESTEEM program was the focus on commercialising new technologies, and being at the interface of business, technology, and innovation.
After graduating from Notre Dame, Fearghal decided to broaden his experience and spent a year working as a Data Analyst with Qualcomm in San Diego. He returned to Ireland at the end of 2011, and soon after joined SAP, a global business software powerhouse. His current role at SAP is as a Technical Quality Manager, where he is assigned to a small number of premium engagement customers and serves as a long-term relationship manager. A major element of his role involves positioning cutting edge technologies with customers and acting as a primary point of contact during their IT transformations.
In addition to his role at SAP, Fearghal has a strong interest in people development and change. He spent six months working as a Project Manager in Global Talent Development at SAP and has since qualified as a Business and Career Coach. He coaches clients both internally to SAP and externally, and is currently building his own business in this area.
