Cathal Kelleher, C.S.C.

Cathal Kelleher graduated from University College Dublin with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, having investigated the potential of wave energy converters in his final year thesis. One of three Naughton Fellows in the ESTEEM class of 2012, Cathal’s thesis supervisor was Dr. Robert Bernhard, Vice-President for Research at Notre Dame. The project investigated the commercial potential of adaptive tuned vibration absorbers utilizing shape-memory alloys within the aeronautical market, specifically for helicopter designs.

After graduation, Cathal responded to a call to a religious vocation, which had become more audible through his encounter with the Congregation of Holy Cross and their ministry at the University of Notre Dame. He is currently a first year seminarian in the Masters of Divinity program at Notre Dame, having professed first vows in the Congregation in August of 2014.
